Don’t censure Durbin, hang him around the Democrats necks
Some are calling for the senate to censure Dick Durbin. I strongly disagree.
This is not an issue you should handle in the senate, it is one you should take to the voters this fall, and again next fall, and then in 2008. Every time national security comes up, we’ll toss Durbin’s comments at the Dems. Let them explain over and over and over again that they really, really support our Nazi-Stalinist-Pol-Pot troops. Let them explain how they can be entrusted to ensure America’s security with forces they think of as torturers and blood-thirsty barbarians. Let their candidate for president blubber “bring it on!” and then have us bury him - or her - under an avalanche of Dick Durbin The Leading Democrat Senator’s words.
Why should we let one hundred men vote on this issue when we can have 120 million do it over and over?
