I don’t agree with this letter to the Palladium-Item (Richmond, IA) editor, but it is, um, it is down to earth and folksy. Irresistible, really.
Here’s the punchline, but you obviously want to (all together now!) read the whole thing:
Mr. Bush almost got our minds off the war by threatening to mess up the Social Security system. He spent millions traveling all over the country trying to sell his idea. If he had put those millions into the Social Security fund along with the billions he is spending in Iraq, he could have increased the monthly payments to us poor old people.
Now I feel better, I think I will go take a nap.
