Durbin, I’m sorry if the warranted criticism compelled you to apologize even if you don’t regret what you said
My reaction to senator Dick “you-are-all-Nazis!” Durbin’s apology is the same as that of most people: That’s an apology? “If me comparing our soldiers to the Nazis offended you, then I’m sorry”? How about “I was an idiot ass for saying that and if you weren’t offended, then I’m sorry for that, too”?
The Northeast Dilemma at New England Republican thinks Republicans shoud accept the apology and move on. Yes, they should, in the sense that the senate Republicans should not be seen as spending all their time hammering Durbin. But the party and its activists should keep the Durbin Stew cooking until November 2008. They should never let the American people forget that the second highest ranking Democratic senator compared our troops to the Nazis - and few of his fellow Dems minded it much.

Senator Dick Durbin, that’s funny, he may have proved himself to be the biggest facist, un-American human being on the Senate floor, and shame on your Senator!
He reffered to our U.S. Guantanomo Bay terrorist holding facility as the equivalent to “concentration camps in Germany during the Holocaust” and called our troops there “Nazis” and “facists”. That’s funny Senator Durbin, because your remarks are as pro Nazi as Adolf Hitler himself. These terrorists that are being held in Guantanomo Bay are not American, and they sure as hell do not share our pro life, pro American beliefs, they are the lowest form of beings to walk this planet, and here in our own Nation’s capital a Senator from Illinois degrades our troops that are keeping these terrorists and millions of other Americans from being whiped off the face of the Earth! He should be arrested and put in hand-cuffs right there while the Senate is in session and be tried for treason, because this circus he has allowed to happen in our America is this highest form of treason you could ever display. I still can’t believe it, Republican or Democrat, every American during this war should be behind our president and the troops until the last U.S. soldier pull his boot off Iraqi soil! Do you liberal scum even recall September 11, 2001?
