Liberal radio network Air America is the target of an investigation by the NYC Department of Investigation for allegedly diverting funds meant for inner-city kids’ programs to the station. Charles Rosen, founder of the Gloria Wise Boys & Girls Club based out of the Co-op City housing project in the Bronx, is said to have invested city funds in Air America which were supposed to be paid back with interest. The NYC DOI hasn’t handed down any indictments yet, but said it was looking into allegations that officials from Gloria Wise and its affiliate Pathways for Youth “approved significant inappropriate transactions and falsified documents that were submitted to various city agencies.”

Other not-for-profit agencies such as the Police Athletic League will be taking over the programs formerly ran by Gloria Wise and Pathways for Youth, which have received $9.7 million from the city in contracts and grants.
