Security Forces Progressing in Northwest Iraq
Iraqi security forces in the northwest provinces are growing in “ability and confidence,” according to Army Major General David Rodriguez, commander of Multinational Force Northwest and Task Force Freedom. Reportedly, the 2nd and 3rd Iraqi Army divisions are developing better counterinsurgency skills and are becoming “a source of pride for the country of Iraq.” The progress is shown by the more than 60 registration sites that have already opened for the upcoming election, the capture of 62 mid-to-high level terrorists since January, and the reduction of the effectiveness of improvised explosive devices through the cooperation of U.S. and Iraqi forces.
There has also been civilian progress, as shown in Nineveh where the government holds well-attended town meetings and is well into the process of reconstructing itself.

You will never see this in the mainstream press. It’s a shame!
