Nebraska Senator Chuck Hagel is reportedly meeting with his advisors and contributors to discuss his prospects of running for U.S. President in 2008 on an independent ticket, in an attempt to tap into voters who are frustrated towards both political parties. Some don’t believe that Hagel will be able to one-up Senator John McCain, who enjoy a much higher profile in the Senate despite political and social similarities with Hagel. It’s been said that if McCain runs and wins the primary, he’ll support him, but if McCain loses Hagel will try to attract his would-be votes.
