Another Bush Border Blunder

Fresh off the FEMA fiasco in Louisiana and Mississippi, President George W. Bush is trying to appoint some feather-weight crony to head the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), thereby demonstrating that the White House a) doesn’t care about the charges of crony-appointments and b) doesn’t care one wit about border control and immigration-law enforcement.

Visit Michelle Malkin’s blog for details on the Bush ICE-scapades.

Update: National Review’s editors also oppose Ms. Myers as ICE boss. I really like this paragraph:

Her nomination highlights the administration’s desire to keep immigration enforcement on a short leash, lest some rogue official embarrass the White House by actually enforcing the immigration law. It exposes the administration to yet another Michael Brown fiasco if, as is eventually likely, a terrorist eludes the demoralized immigration agents at ICE on his way to killing Americans.

I can’t help but think that Rich Lowry and David Frum, both pro-enforcement when it comes to immigration law, have helped nudge the magazine towards a more outspoken opposition against the current Administration-approved Broken Borders situation.
